Two More For One More

Day Thirty-Eight - Saturday April 4

Yesterday, I went to one of my old faithful geysers of seemingly everpresent coins. Tucked away on the outskirts of the ghetto it is good for $5+ on a good outing. I was just there a month or so ago and plucked a hefty pocket load plus my first gold find of the year. It didn't disappoint once more. $6.41! Which really intrigues me. Exactly how rowdy are these kids?!?!? Or is the playground simply too cramped for them and they are continuously bumping into one another and shaking the coins loose. Considering how many coins fall into the woodchips I wonder how many are being recovered. I would seriously like to do a academic/scientific study on this phenomenon and especially at these schools where I find boatloads of change. The really good ones tend to be in lower class areas where one would imagine that money is harder to come by so there is expectation that it would be held on to tighter. Who knows. Either way it goes into rolls, tins, bags and boxes for my baby girl. Thanks people.

Day Thirty-Nine - Sundayday April 5

Again, my proof of lower class loss is set before ye. 2 schools visited and $15.45 found?!?! These are ridiculous numbers when you think about it. I nearly found $10 at a school that I last year also found about 7 or 8 dollars at. At least this school has a much larger play area --maybe 10 times bigger than my jackpot lot-- so that the numbers seem reasonable for a place unchecked for 6 or 9 months. Yeah, I figure that about $1 per month is lost on these lots on average. Assuming that others are scanning these areas as well makes me think that it would probably be more like $1.50 per month for schools on main roads that are visible to the passerby detective. In the nestled away ones where I find a lot more I stick with the original formula. Maybe I'm getting a little carried away with thinking about this. Oh well- I jumped from just under a quarter of the way to my goal to just over a third of the way to it. That's a jump of nearly $25 in three days. Hell, that's $5 over my weekly goal! Niiiiice!
